About the POSITION: This role is a hybrid position that involves full-spectrum medicine including seeing primary care patients in our Clinic in Julesburg, CO, and assuming hospitalist and emergency department on-call coverage duties at the Hospital.
The Clinic and Hospital are attached facilities, and it takes roughly two minutes to walk from the clinic area of the building to the ED for emergency calls.
Clinic Schedules for providers are on a 4x10 schedule, M-F. Each provider is guaranteed a day off on either Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday.
We have all providers in-house on Mondays and Fridays to accommodate meetings.
Providers are expected to take 8-9 call shifts a month, but not to exceed a total of 120 shifts in a year.
These call shifts are 24-hour periods and start/end at 6am.
Typically, you can expect to work 1-2 call shifts a week, and work one full weekend per month.
A full weekend is considered a 72-hour stretch from 6a Fri to 6a Mon.
Providers that work a weekend of call will get a half day off in the morning on Monday.
Should more than 120 shifts be worked in a fiscal year, we compensate at $600 per week day of 1st call, and $750 per weekend day of 1st call.
When providers are on call during a weekday, you will not have a full clinic schedule, rather the on-call provider is responsible for seeing urgent-care type visits.
In order to successfully carry out on-call duties while meeting federal response time standards in the ED, providers must live within a 20-minute radius of the facility.
