About United Theranostics: United Theranostics is a national private practice dedicated to addressing the current major challenge of meaningful access to radiopharmaceutical therapy and advanced molecular imaging in community practice. The term "Theranostics" is derived from a combination of the terms therapy and diagnostics. This high-tech approach to cancer allows us to both find the cancer cells and then use the same or similar molecules to eliminate them. We use PET/CT scans to visualize the tumors, along with SPECT/CT scans to dynamically monitor the effect of therapy, and radiopharmaceuticals to treat cancer. Our mission is to make molecular imaging and radiopharmaceutical therapy accessible to all patients in a comfortable environment with the highest quality of care.About the Role: We are looking for a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at our new practice location in Las Cruces, New Mexico.As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will primarily provide imaging for Nuclear Medicine, PET/CT, and SPECT/CT studies, develop and implement new Nuclear Medicine, PET/CT, and SPECT/CT procedures; and participate in research initiatives designed to identify promising radiopharmaceutical therapies, and perform analysis of imaging data to aid in a more patient-centric delivery of care. What You'll Do: Perform high-quality SPECT/CT, PET/CT, and diagnostic CT images studies. Establish intravenous placement of catheters for infusion of IV solutions, medications, and radiopharmaceutical compounds. Administer radiopharmaceuticals and observe patients during procedures. Report any unusual occurrences to appropriate personnel. Assist in developing nuclear medicine protocols, procedures, and ongoing performance improvement programs. Assist physician with therapy procedures. Calculate, order, prepare, and measure radiopharmaceuticals/kits. Contribute to achieving established department goals and objectives and adhere to department policies, procedures, quality standards, and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations. Maintain orderliness and cleanliness of work areas. Report any unsafe or potentially unsafe conditions. Maintain safe radiation practices and complete all documentation as mandated by department, organization, or regulatory body in relation to the use of radioactive materials. Maintain documentation regarding receipt of radiopharmaceuticals, dosage, quality control, radioactive source storage, and disposal of radiopharmaceuticals/ radioactive materials. Obtain blood and urine specimens for the performance and computation of invitro tests. Prepare patients, obtain patient history, and perform Nuclear Medicine exams. Operate Nuclear Medicine and other departmental equipment and performs quality control and preventive maintenance on a regularly scheduled basis. Contacts outside service for significant malfunctions. Participate in multidisciplinary quality and service improvement teams. Participate in supply/equipment maintenance, clinical research projects, and educational programs and affiliations. Participate in research to include IRB data submissions, administering research isotopes, and performing imaging for dosimetry. Answer phones and run front desk as the volume of patients might be low in the first few months. Perform other duties as assigned. What You'll Need to Get the Job Done: Minimum of five years of experience in Nuclear Medicine processes and procedures, to include PET/CT and SPECT/CT imaging required. Registered in Nuclear Medicine Technology by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Registered in Radiology by the ARRT Registered in Diagnostic Computed Tomography (CT) by NMTCB or ARRT BLS certification, preferred What Will Make You Great at this Job: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with patients, colleagues, and healthcare providers, both written and verbally. Collaborative spirit to work effectively with clinic staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals. Basic computer skills required.
