Summary Position Summary: Under limited supervision, responsible for assisting in the guidance and coordination of oncology patients and their caregivers through the continuum of care, and development and assimilation of appropriate oncology educational materials for patients and their families as defined by the Disease Site Teams and the patients' physicians.
Essential Functions:
Patient Care: Provides Patient Care Nursing activities, such as assessment, education and advocacy.
Administrative: Develops and maintains database to measure key components of multi-disciplinary clinics, including number of new appointments, second opinions, newly diagnosed, referral patterns, stage of presentation, satisfaction, and clinical trial accrual.
Communication: Effectively communicates with patients, families, co-workers, and external parties to ensure exemplary patient care.
Professional Development: Identifies training and development opportunities for staff and self. Recommends development activities to staff and supervisor.
Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; BSN's from CCNE accredited schools
3-5 years related experience
Maryland Registered Nurse License
American Heart Association CPR Certification
OCN strongly preferred
