Our dynamic team in southern Texas dedicated to providing exceptional care to our patients and families is currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Nurse Manager for our Mother and Baby Unit. The Nurse Manager - Mother and Baby Unit will report directly to the Director of Maternal Child Health. They will work collaboratively with other members of the nursing leadership team and hospital administration to ensure the delivery of safe and effective patient care. The Mother and Baby Unit is a bustling and vibrant environment dedicated to caring for new mothers and their infants. Our unit features spacious and comfortable birthing suites, well-equipped nurseries, and a team of skilled nurses and support staff dedicated to providing exceptional care throughout the childbirth experience and beyond. Job Responsibilities: Provide leadership and direction to nursing staff within the Mother and Baby Unit, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care. Oversee daily operations of the unit, including staffing, scheduling, and resource management. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement policies, procedures, and protocols to optimize patient outcomes and satisfaction. Foster a culture of safety, professionalism, and continuous quality improvement within the unit. Mentor and develop staff through coaching, feedback, and educational opportunities to promote professional growth and development. Act as a liaison between nursing staff, physicians, patients, and families to ensure effective communication and coordination of care. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, data collection, and performance improvement activities to monitor and evaluate unit performance. The ideal candidate for the Nurse Manager Mother and Baby Unit position will have a Degree in Nursing and candidates with a minimum of three years of nursing experience in maternal-child health, including experience in a leadership or management role will earn a quick interview. Strong clinical knowledge and expertise in obstetrics, postpartum care, and newborn care are a plus.
