Hartford HealthCare, the largest and most comprehensive healthcare system in Connecticut, has a new growth opportunity for a Family Birthing Center Nurse Practitioner to join our cohesive team to provide value-based care to patients in outpatient settings in Backus Hospital.
Some highlights of this opportunity include:
Nurse Practitioners (APRN) provide direct lactation support and education to patients and staff to ensure that a high quality, cost effective service is delivered.
Advanced Practitioners are responsible for providing comprehensive, advanced, and specialized health services across the continuum of the patient's lactation experience.
This is an opportunity to work collaboratively with the Maternity Women's health services.
These responsibilities include, but are not limited to patient and staff education, consultation and partnerships with health care resources and others within our organization, network and community.
Assists in the establishment of lactation through education and direct patient care in the antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum periods
Assesses for breastfeeding difficulties. Works with providers to establish an individual plan of action for patients, using hospital polices and protocols top ensure consistency of information.

Qualifications
Licensed, or eligible to be licensed, as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of Connecticut.
International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC)
Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Nurse-Midwifery Program
1-3 years of experience in Maternal Child Heath or Family Practice
