The Behavioral Health Nurse Practitioner is a licensed independent practitioner.

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) assesses patient health by interviewing patients; performing physical examinations; and obtaining, updating, and studying medical histories.
He/she determines abnormal conditions by administering or ordering diagnostic tests, such as x-rays, electrocardiograms, and laboratory studies; interpreting test results.
Frequent communication outside of the work group is required to resolve disagreements, reach agreements, and clarify issues/processes.
Responsibility exists to ensure that internal customers are satisfied with service.
Communicates with external contacts frequently and is responsible for ensuring ongoing service.
