Description:
The Nursing Education Coordinator will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and overseeing nursing education and training for Primary Care. This position will ensure that onboarding education and training is completed and documented across Primary Care as well as ensure that training and education materials are current with evidence-based standards. Will design and implement training modules for use throughout Primary Care as well as annual skills-based reviews for all nursing staff.
Position can be based out of existing CHN office/site location, however day travel will be required in this role.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
* Responsible for supervision and direction of our MA training program
* Coordination with sites and preceptors
* Reviewing and updating training materials
* Quality control
* Responsible for ongoing nursing education and training
* Reviewing Lippincott courses for inclusion in annual training
* Reviewing and designing onboarding orientation and skills assessment-oversight
* Development and implementation of in-service programs (nursing, education, quality)
* Will build program that RND's can implement in regions
* Oversight of annual skills review-development and deployment
* Remedial programs for MA/LPN's needing additional training/guidance
* Responsible for training and education with new medical devices implementation
* Participate in initial training from manufacturer
* Develop training guides for on-site clinical use
* Perform onsite initial training and education for device implementation
* Coordinate with HR in ensuring nursing staff meet all training requirements and assist with any needed remediation
* Serve as a subject matter expert for other departments requesting clinical training or review for primary care-related medical needs
* Maintain skills and knowledge of primary care education and training needs; staying current with evidence-based guidelines
* Coordinate implementation and usage of telehealth units to extend primary care access
* Train nursing staff and partner agencies in the use of GALE system for telehealth services
* Collaborate with Medical Directors and VP of Primary Care to identify, assess, and correct deficiencies in nursing skills and education
* Prepare reports on the status of training and education in Primary Care for reporting to Medical Directors and the VP of Primary Care
* Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Associate's Degree is required, Bachelor's degree preferred.
* At least four (4) years experience as a registered professional nurse in providing medical nursing treatment to individuals treated in a primary health care setting required
* Experience and efficiency with healthcare technology software preferred
* At least two (2) years experience in nursing education and training; accredited nursing school staff or hospital nurse training position.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Registered Nurse required
