OB/ Family Medicine Clinician (NP/PA) The OB/Family Medicine Clinician is responsible for providing comprehensive medical care to patients, with a focus on obstetrics and family medicine.
This role involves evaluating and managing patient care, ensuring high-quality medical services, and adhering to clinic policies and regulations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Provide comprehensive care to obstetric and family medicine patients, including prenatal, perinatal, postnatal, and general family health care. Perform thorough evaluations and develop treatment plans for patients. Document patient care and billing information accurately and in a timely manner. Ensure quality medical care is delivered to all patients. Maintain and understand Quality Improvement Program indicators as directed by Medical Leadership. Comply with Standards of Care and clinic policies. Implement clinic policies to ensure appropriate follow-up and specialty referrals. Adhere to state and local laws, regulations, and policies regarding medical operations. Monitor compliance systems and communicate issues to Medical Leadership, following corrective strategies as needed. Coordinate with the Practice Manager on scheduling, schedule changes, and template development.
Communicate promptly with Medical Leadership about any issues. Assist in developing and designing new clinical services to meet patient needs. Attend relevant meetings as directed by Medical Leadership. Additional Duties Participate in work groups, teams, task forces, and committees to support ongoing clinic functions. Foster communication and coordination within the clinic and with outside agencies by establishing professional working relationships. Order or direct the ordering of drugs, solutions, and equipment and maintain accurate records for controlled medications.
Ensure clinic staff observes universal precautions. Report suspicions of abuse (child, adult, elder, and dependent adult) as outlined in relevant Penal Codes. Perform other duties as assigned. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Fully licensed to practice in the state of California. Licenses required for this position must be kept current, valid, and in good standing with the presiding entity. Possess a DEA certificate. Current BLS. PREFERRED BACKGROUND FQHC or community health center practice experience preferred. If Family Medicine specialty, preference for someone with significant OBGYN experience. Demonstrated person-centered approach and familiarity with trauma informed systems and restorative practices.
