Works providing patient assessments and therapy to inpatients, outpatients, skilled and long-term care patients.Is responsible for hands-on care as well as associated documentation.Operational tasks of the departments are required as well as participation in program development.

Duties/Responsibilities: Selects correct evaluation tools, incorporating formal & informal tests as appropriate per diagnosis Performs evaluation components & interprets finds correctly, incorporating findings into a comprehensive treatment plan.
Performs evaluations & treatments at an appropriate level of understanding for the patient, & in an appropriate environment with patient safety, privacy & comfort in mind to optimize performance.
Demonstrates competency with inpatient, outpatient, skilled & long-term settings.
Implements treatment based on the assessment & treatment plan Demonstrates appropriate use & application of clinic electrical, neurodevelopment, thermal & biomechanical modalities Demonstrates appropriate use & application of: ADLS, IADLS, Education, Work, Play, Leisure & Social Skills using Clinical Factors as designated by AOTA.
Performs patient/family education routinely as part of the therapeutic intervention, incorporating individualized written instructions/home programs for reference.
Modifies treatment based on ongoing assessment of patient performance, skills & patterns, context application, activity demands & relevant client factors.
Obtains physician treatment order changes as needed with plan updates Attends CPR annually & timely Maintains current credentials & provides documentation for HR minimally including NBCOT & certification/license from the Indiana Health Professions Bureau.
Supports at least one MMH sponsored event annually Develops educational material & handouts for departmental use Actively participates in departmental programming improvements Demonstrates knowledge of federal/state regulations pertaining to the delivery of OT services in various patient settings Incorporates MMH & OT policies & procedures in the performance of work activities Institutes MMH & department policies & procedures concerning infection control, cleaning of supplies & equipment, clean & dirty linen protocols Follows SBOH requirements in storage & handling of food in ADL kitchen Demonstrates correct sterile field/wound care procedures Provides clinical supervision to COTA, OTA, students & volunteers at appropriate level for treatment setting Co-signs documentation as appropriate Participates in peer/competency review activities of the department Assists in orientation of new team members as designated Required Skills/Abilities: Strong customer service skills Effectively communicates both verbal and written General physical disability treatment skills for occupational therapy patients with UE orthopedic stressed Ability to use basic office equipment Ability to operate thermal, cryo & exercise equipment Ability to operate E-STIM/TENS/ETPS.
Interferential, ultrasound, whirlpool, iontophoresis, adaptive & positioning equipment Education and Experience: Master's degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy Licensed as an Occupational Therapist in the state of Indiana No experience required Physical Requirements: Frequent walking, standing, reaching, talking, & use of hands May need to lift up to 25 lbs; occasionally up to 50 lbs
