*BRIEF OVERVIEW: *The Occupational Therapist is an integral part of the Chamberlain School Education Team, responsible for the delivery of specialized instruction in a individual or small group setting for students with occupational therapy needs as related to educational, medical, and/or social assessments as outlined on their IEPs or educational plans.*STATEMENT OF DUTIES*: The Occupational Therapist (OT) is responsible for the effective design and management of direct intervention sessions and consultation with classroom teachers for students receiving OT services as designated by approved Individualized Education Programs (IEP). S/he is responsible for ensuring the health and safety of students in the occupational therapy setting while delivering lessons aligned with each student's IEP. The OT is responsible for the overall delivery of Occupational Therapy services as designated by student IEPs and working cooperatively with other departments.*QUALIFICATIONS*: The OT must hold a masters degree and a current state license for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Recent graduates awaiting full licensure will be considered based on experience and availablity. The OT must possess and demonstrate confidence and experience in establishing and maintaining a learning environment where high academic standards are met while social/emotional needs of students are also addressed. The OT must have the ability to work effectively and collaboratively with other educational, residential, clinical and administrative staff. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required as is the ability to maintain the integrity of a learning environment.
