The Registered Occupational Therapist will provide diagnostic evaluations and treatment to assigned clients, and help clients reach maximum performance level and to use skills learned to the fullest.
Responsibilities:
* Provide OT services to clients aged 2-8 years old
* Develop individualized treatment plans based on clients' goals and needs
* Help patients improve their ability to perform daily activities and tasks
* Provide consultation to center staff in the areas of perceptual motor, fine motor, gross motor, balance, motor sequencing, and performance problems
* Maintain timely and accurate client records and reports to ensure client progress
* Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate client care
* Educate families on strategies for managing conditions and maximizing independence
Skills:
* Enthusiastic personality that will engage children
* Strong client service skills, with the ability to provide compassionate and empathetic care
* Ability to collaborate and communicate with BCBAs, BTs, parents, and clients in a positive and constructive way.
* Experience working with pediatric clients is highly preferred
* Excellent organizational skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with adults and children
* Ability to plan, manage, and evaluate curriculum
* Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software as required for recordkeeping and documentation
* Familiarity with medical terminology and documentation requirements
Physical Requirements:
* Prolonged periods of standing and sitting throughout the home and/or classroom
* Must be able to lift to 45 pounds at a time
* Must be able to sit and stand on the floor throughout the day, and bend, kneel, or squat to be at eye level with clients
