Occupational Therapist (SY 24-25) - Contract Location: Rensselaer, IN
Required Qualifications: Minimum Master's degree in occupational therapy, as required by state and contract Valid State Certification as specified in the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency (IPLA) School OT services and evaluation experience Job Description Provides Occupational Therapy intervention for students utilizing exercises and equipment to facilitate fine and/or gross motor coordination based on the goals and objectives included in the student's IEP/ISP.
Participates in IEP case conferences.
Provide written documentation related to occupational therapy during Annual Case Reviews and/or other meetings and provide written documentation for progress as determined by the student's Individual Education Plan.
Monitors student progress.
Assess the motor, visual-motor, and sensory-motor functioning of students referred for special education evaluation.
Help determine the need for occupational therapy services.
Assist school staff in reducing barriers that limit student participation within the school environment.
Assist with providing assistive technology to support student success if/when applicable.
Communicate with school staff, family, and other professionals who are part of the child's educational team to contribute to a collaborative IEP including but not limited to student self-advocacy, student engagement in school activities, curricular modifications to support diverse learning abilities, increase student success and promote safety within the school environment, etc.
Creates solutions to challenges for individual students, which are based on research and sound professional judgment.
Makes referrals to community resources as needed.
Documents and maintains an accurate record of therapy sessions, consultations, and other pertinent activities in daily notes and/or Medicaid Billing.
Completes required paperwork in a timely and well-organized manner.
Maintains confidentiality of all student records, school, and other related information as noted by HIPPA and FERPA.
