Open Rank Tenure Track Faculty in Aging ResearchThe Parker Health Group Division of Geriatrics, a division within the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at RWJMS, is recruiting tenured/tenure-track faculty in aging research. The faculty hired under this position will advance the geriatric care knowledge base to support older adults and their families, manage health and aging, and maximize their quality of life in community settings, including private residences, nursing homes, and assisted living facilities. The successful candidate will have research expertise in understanding how to implement change and improvements in real-world settings. Topics of particular interest include, but are not limited to, achieving health equity, caregiving, applied technology and assistive devices in aging, and workforce development. Applicants with perspectives from clinical medicine, public health, medicine, nursing, psychology, sociology, social work, or other related fields are encouraged to apply.
Candidates must have a demonstrated commitment to working with underrepresented populations according to the NIH health disparities framework and a strong interest in working collaboratively with multidisciplinary groups of social and behavioral scientists, clinicians, and policy scholars. They must have a track record or high potential for federal (NIH) funding. The successful candidate will build a research program in developing, assessing, and/or implementing practical, scalable solutions to improve the lives of older adults.
Minimum Education and Experience: PhD or equivalent degree in a relevant field such as Gerontology, Sociology, Psychology, or related social science; Social Work; Public Health; or a clinical degree (MD, PharmD, DNP) with board certification in Family Medicine, Geriatrics and/or Palliative Care, other medical and surgical specialty, nursing, or pharmacy with advanced research training.A strong record of successful peer-reviewed publications, appropriate to academic rank.Record of successful peer-reviewed grant proposals to the NIH or other peer-reviewed grant sponsors, appropriate to academic rank.A high level of achievement in the application of advanced analytic techniques relevant to their field of study.Record of successful multi-disciplinary collaboration and mentorship of students, fellows, and early-stage investigators.Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to translate research findings and concepts to both academic and non-academic audiences.Ability to successfully engage and communicate with study subjects, community and public policy leaders, or other stakeholders.Demonstrated record of excellence in teaching and mentorship.Position Status: Full Time
