Operations Control Specialist
Job Function Summary:
As a Team Lead, Operations Control Specialist, your role will involve leading and supporting the firm-wide Risk and Controls infrastructure, with a specific focus on overseeing the firm's trading operations. This position requires a strong technical background in Finance, Market Risk, and Technology, as well as the application of data analytics, quantitative methods, and functional expertise to enhance and improve data quality, reporting, operational processes, and controls. You will lead a team and contribute to team projects, so being comfortable in a fast-paced and deadline-sensitive environment is essential. This global role involves frequent collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders, providing a broader perspective on market risk, controls, and financial regulatory regimes.
Principal Responsibilities:
Lead and collaborate with various functions across Core Operations, Middle Office, Market Risk, Finance, Treasury, Technology, Legal, and Compliance globally to design, develop, maintain, and enhance preventive controls and data governance frameworks.
Possess a strong understanding of financial derivatives, market risk models, and risk metrics such as VAR, Greeks, credit and interest rate spreads, DV01, etc., and effectively communicate complex products and concepts to management and stakeholders.
Develop a deep understanding of the firm's operational trade life cycle functions, including trade capture, T0 and T1 confirmation/affirmation, asset servicing, pricing/valuation, P&L calculations, collateral management, financing, etc.
Automate manual reporting processes using data analytics solutions to ensure timeliness and accuracy of risk and regulatory reporting for end clients globally.
Create and manage comprehensive quantitative scorecards aligning key performance and risk indicators by asset class, market, broker, trading group, legal entity, etc., to assist in strategic decision making.
Consolidate key regulatory reports for domestic and international regulators across the firm.
Lead and mentor a team of Operations Control Specialists, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
