We are seeking a highly motivated R&D Operations Lead to help establish and shape the new R&D Operations function at our Princeton site. In this pivotal role, you will help drive innovation by supporting laboratory researchers and collaborating with key internal partners like Procurement, Safety, Health & Environment, and Site Management. You will be responsible for ensuring efficient and cost-effective lab operations, while contributing to the optimization of R&D processes and workflows. Your key responsibilities
R&D supply chain - Manage ordering and receiving of laboratory consumables, gases, and chemicals, maintaining adequate inventory and forecasting future needs. Partner with suppliers and Procurement to optimize sourcing process and seek out cost-saving opportunities.
Chemical inventory & asset management - Maintain R&D chemical inventory and manage laboratory assets including coordinating routine maintenance and calibration and working with Procurement to negotiate service contracts.
Materials sourcing and shipping (internal) - Coordinate with local and global R&D and Manufacturing colleagues to source materials (research samples, ingredients, etc.) and organize domestic and international sample shipments to dsm-firmenich partner sites.
Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) - partner with SHE experts to facilitate the implementation of new processes and best practices in R&D laboratories.
Ensure efficient and cost-effective lab operations - Identify gaps in current practices and propose initiatives to harmonize and improve processes and workflows.

You bring
B.Sc. with 1-2 years of experience in a research laboratory.
Deep understanding of practical aspects of working in research laboratories and offices
Problem solving mindset, looking for practical solutions, proactivity, attention to details, drive to challenge status quo, absolute customer focus.
Digital savviness and a high motivation to contribute to the continuous improvement of our internal work processes and communication tools.
Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
