**Job Description:**
Valero Energy is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Operations Manager to join our team in Denver, Colorado. This part-time position is ideal for an individual with a strong background in operations management, and who thrives in a fast-paced environment that encourages innovative thinking and challenges the status quo. The Operations Manager will play a pivotal role in enhancing operational efficiency, ensuring seamless execution of processes, and maintaining high standards of quality across our operations.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- **Operational Oversight:** Monitor daily operations to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in line with company standards and goals. Implement best practices and innovative approaches to improve operational workflows.
- **Process Improvement:** Analyze current operational processes and identify areas for improvement. Develop and execute strategies to enhance productivity and reduce costs while maintaining quality.
- **Team Collaboration:** Work closely with other departments such as finance, supply chain, and human resources to ensure cohesive implementation of operational strategies. Promote interdepartmental communication to drive project success.
- **Performance Metrics:** Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational success. Provide regular reports and insights to senior management to support data-driven decision-making.
- **Compliance and Safety:** Ensure that all operations comply with regulatory requirements and company policies. Drive initiatives that promote a culture of safety and responsibility within the workplace.
- **Training and Development:** Develop and implement training programs for staff to enhance skills and ensure adherence to operational protocols. Mentor team members and foster an environment of continuous improvement and learning.
- **Problem Solving:** Utilize strong decision-making skills to address operational challenges as they arise. Facilitate discussions with stakeholders to find practical solutions in a timely manner.
- **Client Interaction:** Liaise with clients and partners as necessary to address operational inquiries and resolve issues efficiently, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
- **Administrative Duties:** Oversee administrative tasks associated with operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and inventory management.
**Qualifications & Requirements:**
- **Education:** Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field preferred.
- **Experience:** Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations management or related roles, preferably within the energy sector.
- **Technical Proficiency:** Strong knowledge of operations management software and tools. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is required.
- **Personality Traits:** Energetic, reliable, and proactive with a positive attitude. Ability to energize and motivate a team.
- **Soft Skills:**
- Exceptional attention to detail to ensure accuracy in operational execution.
- Strong decision-making abilities to analyze situations and determine effective solutions.
