You'll be responsible for knowing and acting in accordance with Barrett's vision to WOW our customers, partners, and fellow employees with every interaction.
The Position: The Operations Manager, reporting to the General Manager, is responsible for managing the operation, including customer service, labor scheduling, supervision, and proper utilization of space, equipment, and manpower.
This shift works 4:00pm-12:30am, Monday-Friday.
The compensation range for this position is $85K-$110K, depending on experience.
Your Day-to-Day: Accountable for the safe, efficient, and economical operation of the warehouse in the areas of staffing, warehouse operations, maintenance of the facility and equipment, implementation of safety, security, housekeeping and sanitation programs, budgeting, customer service, and inventory control.Manage all distribution services including receiving, storing, shipping, handling return/damaged goods, maintenance, and administrative activities to ensure customer requirements and/or KPIs, if applicable, are met in an efficient manner.Ensure the operation exceeds customers' expectations for service and responsiveness.Develop, prioritize and direct programs to ensure the efficient and cost-effective operation and utilization of the warehouse.Identify root cause of Nonconformance Reports and implement Corrective Actions Report as needed.Participate in the preparation of budgets, revenue projections, and account analysis.Utilize measurement systems to evaluate productivity, quality, and variance from standards.Continually optimize facility storage to minimize the inefficient utilization of space.Responsible for maintaining physical inventory accuracy at a defined company rate.Ensure all required documentation and system transactions (electronically and/or manually) for assigned area(s)/account(s) are completed in a timely manner.Establish and maintain credible, professional relationships with clients, internal business lines, and external vendors.Partner with the customer to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction by communicating frequently and following up on customer concerns and requests.Interface with internal partners, including but not limited to Strategic Account Management, Business Process Optimization, Customer Service, Finance, and Human Resources, to identify business opportunities and resolve issues.Attract, develop and retain high-performing, diverse talent within the business; build future leaders through mentoring and serving as a role model.Develop and communicate clear goals and expectations for their leadership team; provide ongoing training and development opportunities.Responsible for ensuring all staff are properly trained on all standard operating procedures, method observations are conducted, and documented per company standards.Actively lead meetings and effectively communicates daily goals, building, and company-wide information; sets the energy level and tone of the day.Champion the GGOB program in the facility. This includes the effective communication of GGOB targets and results and the oversight of mini-games to improve productivity and/or improve our customer's experience.Ensure compliance with OSHA and MSDS regulations.Monitor warehouse operations continually to ensure the warehouse is neat, secure, safe, and well organized.Maintain physical condition of warehouse by planning, inspecting, and issuing work order requests for repair or replacements.Performs other related duties as required.What You'll Bring to the Table: High school Diploma/GED required.Four (4) year college degree preferred.Minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of demonstrated supervisory experience required (preferably in a warehouse or distribution center environment).Experience must demonstrate a solid working knowledge of warehouse operations and policies and procedures.Working knowledge of 3PL, Supply Chain, and Transportation, WMS system preferred.Working knowledge of inventory control, cycle counts, and a proven track record of inventory accuracy.Working knowledge of Lean principles and/or Six Sigma preferred.Proficient in all Microsoft business applications such as Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English (Bilingual Spanish/English skills preferred).Experience must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as organizational skills and attention to detail.Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and the ability to function well in a high-paced and, at times, stressful environment.The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employees assigned to this classification.
