This is a highly responsible and professional position that will serve as Operations & Management Consultant II – SES, Facility Operations. This position will collaborate with each section within the state facilities and be required to use independent judgment, take initiative in carrying out duties and responsibilities, and should be extraordinarily detail-oriented.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities include: Oversees operation of Health Information Services, Postal Services, and Publication/Printing services for the MHTFs. Oversees Canteen Management for Civil and Forensic Services at FSH. This position reports to the Operations and Management Consultant Manager-SES of the Facility Operations Office.This is advanced professional work supervising and directing employees. The primary duty of the incumbent in this position is to spend the majority of their time communicating with, motivating, training, and evaluating employees, planning and directing their work; and having the authority to effectively recommend actions such as: hire, transfer, suspend, layoff, promote, discharge, assign, and reward or discipline direct reports. Evaluates employees against established standards and takes appropriate actions when necessary.Provides consultation and leadership to subordinates in all matters and problems relating to the performance of their assigned duties. Assists in the preparation of subordinate schedules, issues daily instructions, and adjusts as necessary. Administers counseling when needed and proper disciplinary action in accordance with current directives after discussion with supervisor.Monitors and updates process flows to ensure services are provided in a customer-driven manner that is cost-effective.Provides standards of performance and points out strong and weak points as an ongoing evaluation of performance. Evaluates employees through performance appraisals in accordance with DCF Rules and Regulations.Reviews employee time sheets, approves/disapproves employee leave requests. Approves timecards in the KRONOS system.
