The Operations Specialist is responsible for managing and maximizing equipment utilization, inventory, and supplies for all areas of assigned patient floors. This position controls the daily operations of assigned floors. The Operations Specialist will partner with the Patient Experience department to ensure an exceptional human experience for team members, families, patients, and visitors. The Operations Specialist will also be responsible for the Environment of Care for assigned nursing floors to ensure Joint Commission readiness.
Responsibilities Manage and maximize equipment utilization, inventory, and supplies for all areas. Partner with the Patient Experience departments to ensure exceptional human experience for team members, families, patients, and visitors. Assess barriers to care and assist with executing a plan for expediting patient progression to floors. Round on patients daily to assist with increasing patient experience scores for assigned patient floors. Ensure patient floors are Joint Commission ready regarding the Environment of Care. Establish routine inventory and maintenance for equipment on assigned patient floors. Collaborate with EVS and Plant Operations on moves/installations. Work with Plant Operations on environmental care issues. Collaborate with the Information Technology department to retain necessary equipment (i.e., chargers, iPads, etc.). Ensure rovers, MAK carts, etc., are in working order for all areas of patient floors. Work with Materials Management on notifications of supply chain issues and the receipt of new equipment. Complete weekly Environment of Care rounds. Demonstrate good judgment, critical thinking, and foster recovery by identifying, resolving, and reporting issues that affect patient throughput. Establish priorities for effective work completion and adapt quickly to changing conditions. Process purchase orders. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office and Google Suite platforms. Qualifications Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Bachelor's Degree. Minimum of three years healthcare experience preferred.
