Veritiv's Integrated Solutions team is growing in Pelzer, SC. We're looking for a Production Supervisor. The ideal candidate should have a steady work history that shows commitment, quality, and reliability to their work. You will report promptly to your department manager about your daily duties and will work with your team to ensure that the production goals are reached. You must have the ability to work to a high standard of safety and quality in a fast-paced environment. Working with a team of talented and motivated specialists, you lead in the material of electrical switchgear products and modular skids. This will require you to have a high attention to detail, quality, and safety standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES Oversee the operation of material under the IMS manager. Lead the material team in daily tasks on the production floor. Receive and catalog material for projects. Work closely with various IMS departments to ensure all projects are accurately completed and on time. Determine and evaluate aspects of production, policy adherence, and quality across departments. Identify, report, and resolve equipment and material issues in a timely manner. Continually supervise and provide support for contractors throughout the duration of projects. Provide support to team leaders in ensuring proper installation of equipment. Proactively search for ways to improve production performance and channel these ideas via the team and team leaders. Responsible for the team's time keeping and overseeing discrepancies. Train new team members on the proper installation of equipment. Populating and operating the vacation tracker for team. Coach new and existing team members. Ensure teams have appropriate PPE for all tasks. Follow schedule and work with the team to ensure all jobs are on track. Ensure company housekeeping standards are being met. Ensure equipment service records and inspections are being carried out. Ensure teams PTO and timecards are reviewed and input. Conduct periodic merit reviews. Liaise with Project engineers to resolve Project issues. Co-ordinate with TLs to ensure adequate manpower is available to complete projects on time and identify when overtime is required. This also applies when situations arise when there is additional manpower available. Conduct applicable corrective actions and coaching sessions to encourage accountability. Take an active role in the Project Kick-Off meetings. Set and maintain a certain standard of excellence for your team to follow. Work or set up overtime to when required to meet shipping dates based on customer demand. Ensure the material team has adequate staffing on any given week to ensure project deliveries are on time. QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or GED. Some background in electrical field preferred. Good mechanical knowledge is an advantage. Must be self-driven. Must have strong prioritization skills. Must be able to keep track of work orders. Must be available and able to work any applicable overtime in accordance with the plant and maintenance needs. PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS May be required to lift 50 lbs Bend/Twist Stand or sit for extended periods of time Use tools requiring manual dexterity May be required to operate powered industrial equipment TIME TRAVEL REQUIRED 10% The successful candidate will embrace Vertiv's Core Principals & Behaviors to help execute our Strategic Priorities.
