Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to assess vision and ocular healthDiagnose and manage a variety of eye disorders and diseases, including glaucoma, cataracts, and retinal conditionsPerform surgical procedures such as cataract surgery, laser treatments, and other ocular surgeries as neededProvide pre-operative and post-operative care to ensure optimal recovery for patients undergoing eye surgeriesPrescribe corrective lenses and recommend vision therapy when appropriateEducate patients and their families about eye health, prevention, and treatment options to empower informed decision-makingRequirements Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institutionCompletion of residency training in ophthalmology and board certification or eligibilityValid state medical license to practice ophthalmologyDemonstrated proficiency in performing a wide range of ophthalmic surgical proceduresStrong clinical and diagnostic skills with a comprehensive understanding of ocular diseasesExcellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients and staffCommitment to ongoing professional development and staying abreast of advancements in ophthalmologySkills · Proficiency in using electronic medical record systems such as Epic or similar
· Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations and compliance in a healthcare setting
