Ophthalmologist

The Alamance Eye Center is offering an excellent opportunity for a board certified/board eligible ophthalmologist to join our thriving physician-owned practice in Burlington, North Carolina. The practice consists of 5 MDs and 1 OD in two locations, less than 20 minutes apart. The practice is well-established, having served the community since the 1950s.
Our established anterior segment surgeons average 500+ cataracts each per year, operating at the local outpatient surgical facility. We have subspecialty coverage of Retina, Glaucoma, Cornea, and Oculoplastics available in our practice. Nonetheless, any subspecialty interest is welcomed, and an interest/ability in glaucoma is a strong plus.
Burlington is a mid-sized, family-oriented community with award-winning private and public schools, many recreational opportunities, and large urban centers nearby. The Carolina Coast and Blue Ridge Mountains are in good proximity and make for great weekend adventures from here. Elon University, ranked #1 Regional University in the South by US News and World Report in 2017, and #1 in the Nation for Teaching Excellence this year, is adjacent to Burlington, adding a college atmosphere. Additionally, Burlington is consistently named (quarterly) in the WSJ/Realtor.com top 20 places to live in the US and top 3 in NC. UNC and Duke (within 30 minutes) and Wake Forest University (within 1 hour) offer collegiality as well as tertiary care.
We offer a competitive starting salary and benefits for this partnership-track position. There is a daily stipend for covering call. After the first year of employment, a robust bonus structure is implemented. There are full-service optical shops at the main and satellite locations. We participate in an ACO which was ranked fifth in the nation for Quality in the 2015 Medicare Shared Savings Program. The Next Generation ACO qualifies for the Advanced Alternative Payment Model, and as members of this ACO, we do not have to report for MIPS.
