Responsibilities:
The Optics Fabrication Manufacturing Manager will oversee the entire optical fabrication process within the manufacturing department. This role requires a deep understanding of manufacturing techniques, process optimization, quality control, and team leadership. The manager will partner with engineering, quality assurance, and FaST production teams to ensure efficient manufacturing operations and the delivery of high-quality optical components.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Management:

Lead and supervise a team of optical fabrication supervisors, technicians and engineers.

Assign tasks, manage schedules, and ensure efficient workflow within the fabrication department.

Provide training and development opportunities for team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.

Process Management:

Oversee all stages of the optical fabrication process, including cutting, grinding, polishing, coating, inspection and testing.

Ensure that fabrication processes are carried out according to design specifications and quality standards.

Develop and implement process improvements to enhance productivity, efficiency, and product quality.

Quality Assurance:

Establish and maintain quality control procedures to ensure that all optical components meet industry standards and customer requirements.

Conduct regular inspections and testing of optical components to identify and address any defects or issues.

Collaborate with the quality assurance team to implement corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.

Collaboration:

Work closely with the engineering team to develop and refine fabrication processes for new and existing products.

Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure the timely acquisition of materials and components.

Liaise with suppliers and vendors to maintain high-quality standards and resolve any supply chain issues.

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Optical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred but not required.

Experience:

Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in optical fabrication or a related field.

Proven experience in a managerial or supervisory role within a manufacturing environment.

Extensive knowledge of optical fabrication techniques, materials, and equipment.

Skills:

Strong leadership and team management abilities.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Certifications:

Relevant certifications in optics or quality management are a plus.

Work Environment:

Involves handling delicate and sensitive optical components.

Some travel may be required for meetings with suppliers or customers.

Note:

The level of role will be based on applicable experience, education and skills.

Most offers will be between the minimum and the midpoint of the Salary Range listed below.

California pay range: MIN $148,000- MAX $246,000

Note:

For other locations, pay ranges will vary by region.

This role is eligible for Keysight Results Bonus Program.
