Role: Clinical Assistant (Orthodontic/Dental Assistant)
Job Type: Non-exempt
Reports To: Doctor & Practice Manager
Pay Range: $22.00 - $25.00 hourly
Description: Clinical Assistants provide chairside assistance to Orthodontists and ensure that patients are well-informed about orthodontic procedures and braces aftercare.
They prepare for appointments, sterilize orthodontic tools and adjust patients braces under the direction of the Orthodontist.
They engage in relationship with each patient and ensure a special experience for each patient they touch.
We are looking for people who are: FlexibleCommittedImprovement focusedTeam focusedFunCuriousRelationship focusedListeners who relate with peopleSelf-StartersEager to learn new skillsEssential Job Functions: Assists in placing and removing orthodontic appliances.Takes X-Rays/Scans Creates molds and impressions of patients teeth for the fabrication of retainersMay photograph patients to document progressMaintains accurate records of patients oral health histories and treatment progressEnsures all orthodontic instruments and equipment are properly sterilized before each useTreats patient as an honored guest and provides unforgettable experienceAssists orthodontists by preparing for procedures, laying out instruments, and keeping patients mouths dry with suction toolCommunicates any problem areas regarding patient progress to OrthodontistEducates patients (and parents) on proper oral hygiene practices and braces aftercareLearns and becomes proficient in EMR usageWorks with team and patients to coordinate schedulingCross trains in front office duties and fills-in as necessaryMakes adjustments to patient braces, brackets and bands as directed by OrthodontistAccompanies patient from waiting area to chair while engaging in conversationPlease note: this job description is not designed to cover a comprehensive list of duties or responsibilities that are required for this position.
