Job Description

The FIELDER I (sometimes called a "Junior Engineer") will participate in applicable training associated with their path in the OSP Engineering realm. The FIELDER I and their trainer will utilize a combination of Ziply curriculum and real-world scenarios on live jobs to develop a well-rounded understanding of their primary function(s). This position would likely last 4-12 months, pending employee progression, before being moved into a function specific role.

This individual must be capable of reading and interpreting engineering drawings, legal descriptions, and have a thorough understanding of voice/data industry standards, plant symbols, and terminology. Must have knowledge of important telecommunications measurements, clearances, safety guidelines, and structure requirements both aerial and subsurface. Must be fully knowledgeable of requirements set forth in Ziply practices for outside plant copper/fiber design and construction. Must, upon completion of each work order inspected, provide to the appropriate departments, all associated supporting documentation of her/his findings. Special attention to identified items of inspection that may be of a serious nature, such as, safety or quality, should be reported to Ziply management immediately upon identification.
Requirements:

At a minimum, a cursory understanding of the world of telecommunications and its basic components
Advanced Excel skills/proficiency
Strong knowledge of Access is required
Knowledge of voice/data field a plus, but not a must

Training is available for the right candidate that demonstrates they are a self-starter, requires minimal supervision, and is very professional
