Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Internal Medicine Physician to join our outpatient clinic team.
This role involves providing primary care services to adult patients, as well as supervising and mentoring internal medicine residents.
The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for teaching and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care.

These duties are to be performed in a highly confidential manner, following the mission, values, and behaviors of Insight Hospital and Medical Center.
Employees are further expected to provide a high quality of care, service, and kindness toward all patients, staff, physicians, volunteers, and guests.


Key Responsibilities:

- Provide comprehensive outpatient care to adult patients, including diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up.


- Document patient care activities thoroughly and accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.


- Serve as a preceptor for the internal medicine residents' continuity clinic, including overseeing patient care, ensuring high value, quality care is provided.


-Monitor residents' provision of care including orders, notes, follow up of results and messages, providing teaching, mentorship and corrective action where appropriate.


- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of clinical protocols and curriculum for the ambulatory clinic.


- Engage in continuous medical education and stay current with advancements in internal medicine.


- Participate in departmental meetings, case conferences, and other educational activities.


- Promote a culture of safety, quality, and professionalism within the clinic.


Qualifications:

- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree from an accredited institution.


- Board certification (preferred) or eligible in Internal Medicine.


- Unrestricted medical license to practice in Illinois

- Prior experience in resident supervision and medical education is highly desirable.


- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.


- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.


- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
