Job summary
Responsible for trailer movement and sorting packages in a safe and efficient mannerCommunicates with management to coordinate trailer movements in the yardMay also perform Package Handler functions as required

Responsibilities
• Performing trailer switches and coordinating movements in the yard• Documenting trailer moves using Yard Management System or switcher cards• Performing pre- and post-trip inspections on switcher equipment• Demonstrating effective yard switching safety processes and procedures• Loading and unloading packages onto delivery vehicles, trailers, and conveyor systems• Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling packages for 2 to 4-hour shifts• Determining the appropriate conveyor system and sorting packages accordingly
Requirements
• No experience required; 6 months of package handler or switching/CDL operator experience preferred• Must have a valid driver's license and maintain a DOT file• Ability to understand and follow work instructions and safety methods• Ability to discern numbers and sort packages correctly• Ability to use basic tools and equipment• Strong communication and interpersonal skills• Ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment
Key Skills Needed
