Job Summary
An Operation Manager is a field of business concerned with the administration of business practices to maximize efficiency within an organization. It involves planning, organizing, and overseeing the organization's processes to balance revenues and costs to achieve the highest possible operating profit. An Operation Manager is tasked with ensuring that the organization successfully converts inputs such as materials, labor, and technology into outputs in an efficient manner. An Operation Manager must have excellent organizational, coordination, and people skills and must be tech-savvy.
Responsibilities
The Operations Manager plans, directs, and coordinates, through subordinate personnel, activities to obtain optimum use of equipment, facilities, and personnel.
Manages and motivates operational personnel.
Confers and cooperates with upper management in formulating administrative and operational policies and procedures.
Liaison with company's customers, overseeing staff, planning Job scheduling projects and overseeing sales and Consults with airport management.
Analyzes records of daily operations to maintain knowledge of station activities.
Reviews and analyzes expenditures, financial and operations reports to determine requirements for increasing profits.
Recommends capital expenditures for acquisition of new equipment which would increase efficiency and services.
Approves requisitions for equipment, materials, and supplies within limits of facility budget.
Enforces compliance of personnel with administrative policies, procedures, safety rules, and governmental regulations.
Maintain and control all required aspects of the operation in accordance with the corporate security program and TSA legislation.
Ensure that the required company audit requirements are undertaken to always ensure continuity and compliance.
Minimum Requirements
HS Diploma, GED or Equivalent.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Valid driver's license
Must be able to work a flexible schedule for a 24/7 operation, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Background check and drug screen required
Must be able to attain and sustain an Airport I.D. Badge
Must have a minimum of two (2) years' documented training and/or job experience in leading a team in the areas of welding, machinery, diesel mechanic, electrical and/or pneumatics.
Aptitude for mathematics and science.
Advanced knowledge of diesel engine components.
Good IT and diagnostic skills.
Proficiency with maintenance and repair tools.
Excellent verbal communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends (i.e., Friday, Saturday, Sunday), holidays, and days-off.
Ability to read and work from diagrams as required.
Preferred Skills
Experience using computer software.
Experience working with scanners.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
Employees work in the assured management areas of baggage, at repair stations, or at airfields and often must meet strict deadlines to maintain flight schedules.
Employees will be working with and exposed to the baggage handling system, mechanical parts, and vibration.
Employees may be exposed to various noise levels due to aircraft engines and equipment.
Employees bend, lean, and frequently reach ladders and scaffolding.
Employees are required to regularly speak and hear.
Employees are often required to reach with their hands and arms.
Employees may be required to perform a variety of activities that could include standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crawling, and climbing throughout their day.
Employees frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds with the help of teammates.
Employees will lift parts and tools for long periods of time and handle equipment such as transportation systems.
Employees will be working with and exposed to the baggage handling system, mechanical parts, and vibration.
Employees may be exposed to various noise levels due to aircraft engines and equipment.
