The CHA Imaging department provides advanced medical imaging services led by a team of board-certified physicians, certified technologists and service-oriented staff . We offer a full complement of imaging services including a 128-slice CT and a wide bore 1.5T MRI. We also offer interventional radiology services, diagnostic X-ray, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, and nuclear medicine. We are accredited by the American College of Radiology (ACR) which demonstrates our commitment to the safest and best quality care possible.

Summary:
Responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, implementing and maintaining daily operations of the RIS, PACS, Voice Recognition (VR)and related systems of the Cambridge Health Alliance Radiology department. Works independently, efficiently, collaboratively and responsibly to complete tasks. Acts as a liaison with IT and vendors.

Responsibilities:
• Assists with for day-to-day operational support of PACS, RIS VR and other Medical Imaging (MI)IT platforms and applications.
• Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Maintains system security through assignment of privileges. Assures accounts are created and correct privileges assigned.
• Works with end users to define what system customization may be desired and submits recommendations to PACS Administrator.
• Assists with new employee training, including super user training, orientation and competency for PACS and VR and other MI applications.
• Assures compliance with state and federal regulations such as JCAHO, OSHA, DPH, RCB, HIPAA etc.
• Troubleshoots/repairs network connectivity problems & provides network support for new equipment installs or equipment relocations
• Travels to all CHA locations to assist employees working with MI IT applications.
• Participates in equipment procurement, maintenance and training.
• Keeps abreast of new technology and recommends acquisition and implementation of new technology.
• Provides technical support for radiology peripherals, VR, PACS QC Platform (relays), hardware and applications
• Supports Cambridge Health Alliance by maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of information, protecting the assets of the organization, acting with ethics and integrity, reporting noncompliance and adhering to federal, state and local laws and regulations, accreditation requirements and facility policies and procedures.
• Provides frontline support assisting end users, responding to system alerts, for imaging applications & platforms
• Participates in quality improvement reports, data collection and reporting as needed.
• Manages calls triaged through the helpdesk and/or the PACS pager
• Ability to interact effectively with a diverse group of people including patients, providers, co-workers, health care professionals, other CHA employees and vendors.
• Collects data and reports for operational, fiscal, administrative and regulatory purposes as requested
• Responds to end user questions and requests for service.
• Performs daily, weekly and monthly database checks and clean-up functions. Performs system audits proactively monitor systems.
• Ability to respond to abrupt changes in work schedule, handles interruptions while functioning productively.
• Identifies development and training needs of PACS and VR users and communicates to appropriate supervisor.
• Participates in a daily & nightly call as needed
• Identifies equipment in need of repair. Notifies vendor to ensure continued service.
• Develop intimate knowledge of the workflow in Imaging
• Reviews data entered, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Acts as liaison between radiology, IT, other departments and system vendors for PACS, RIS and VR
• Demonstrates knowledge of Alliance regulations in fire and safety, infection control, disaster preparedness and emergency codes according to department protocols and insures all department staff are trained and familiar with requirements.
• Responsible for projects and tasks relating to systems designs, implementation and support.
• Ensures quality of customer service to radiology system users by monitoring support tickets for timely resolution and closure.
• Provides user's access to systems & vendors with new modality integrations & connection to PACS
• Assists with hardware and software upgrades and ongoing support in Radiology in collaboration with PACS Administrator and IT.
• Participates in own performance appraisal by identifying goals and objectives with supervisor.
• Serves as a resource for the department and staff.
• Demonstrates a working knowledge of radiographic equipment as it relates to the operation and interaction with PACS, VR and RIS .
• Rejects incorrect imaging & works with the technologists to fix broken exams.
• Support the radiology voice recognition interpretation & report generation platform
• Develops and maintains relationships with the all staff to assist in creating and maintaining effective channels of communication.
• Responsible for technical support of image delivery & distribution for tele radiology
• Maintains a current knowledge of new methods, technologies and industry trends that may affect PACS, RIS and VR
• Monitors system links & critical interface queues for errors, as assigned
• Participates in all phases of systems implementation including preparation, requirements definition, systems design, installation, testing and training.
• Ability to independently analyze problems, determine correct course of action and implement in an appropriate time frame
• Maintains appropriate databases.
• Performs corrections as needed to patient folders.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's Degree Preferred
ABII (American Board of Imaging Informatics must be obtained within one year of hire
Minimum of 2-3 years previous experience in Imaging Informatics, Voice Recognition and/or Imaging Technology.
Two to three years experience in an imaging department. Must have proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
