Description
SUMMARY The Paint Finishing Technician is responsible for the preparation and application of coatings on component parts.
The parts range from all metal to fiber-reinforced composite construction.
The job entails following detailed process specifications and meeting finish acceptance requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES -Paint parts to specific requirements.
-Follow verbal and written instructions.
-Able to perform all Finishing Technician Requirements.
-Work independently with minimal supervision.
-Lead small finishing projects, acting as a liaison between other technicians and the supervisor.
-Assist in the development of improved methods, techniques and lead the process of transfer of these skills to others.
-Capable of performing inspections of finishes and through this process prevents defects and enhances departmental quality.
-Work overtime and shift as required by the supervisor.
-Maintain a clean, organized area including all paint equipment.
-Follow standard shop practices as well as defined process specifications in the preparation and application of finish coatings.
-Consistently meet or exceed schedules.
-Cross train other in position as required.
-Promote a team environment with a positive attitude.
-Participate in ISO, AS 9100 and Continuous Improvement requirements.
-Work towards a lean MFG concept.
-All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
Must have a minimum of 1 year related experience and/or training.
-Proficient in all Level III Paint Technician jobs essentials.
-Must be able to operate conventional spray equipment, pressure pots, airless sprayers and other related equipment as required.
-5-7 years experience, working as a finish painter in the aircraft, automotive, boating or manufacturing industry.
