JOB SUMMARY The Paramedic provides direct effective patient care to patients in the Windham Hospital Paramedic primary service area.
Must be able to respond safely while operating emergency vehicle and demonstrate the knowledge and skills required to care for a variety of patient groups in the Advanced Life Support and Basic Life Support setting.
Qualifications Minimum Requirements Education: High School diploma required and successful completion of Department of Transportation Paramedic Curriculum.
Experience: Minimum 3 years' experience as a Paramedic in busy 911 systems.
Licensure, Certification, Registration: State of CT Paramedic License, Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and PreHospital Trauma Life Support or equivalent .
Valid driver's license with clean record.
Critical Care certification preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements: Ability to read and understand oral and written instructions, and effectively communicate information with patients, Emergency staff and physicians.
Basic computer skills including email, internet usage, and data entry and retrieval.
Must be organized, flexible and able to work in a team environment.
Able to work in high stress environment.
Must be able to prioritize based on situation.
Must be able to recognize any problem or safety concern and report it to appropriate staff member.
