We are hiring paraprofessionals to support our middle schools (5-8) or high school (9-12) students. Learn more about Valor:https://valorcollegiate.org/our-model/ Core Responsibilities Include:Assist scholars in meeting their daily personal and academic goalsCollaborate closely with the exceptional education team of teachers and paraprofessionals to ensure the success and wellbeing of scholars Assist and guide scholars during class transitions and help them stay organized and on-task in their learning spacesSupport scholars with alternative academic tasks in an inclusive classroom environmentSupport scholars in developing coping strategiesWhen needed, pull out and work one-on-one with scholars to help them "reset" and prepare for the inclusive classroom environmentAssist scholars with personal daily life skills such as toileting, feeding, and general hygiene skills as neededAssist lead teachers with developing and creating materials for lessonsAssist lead teachers to collect data on scholars individual academic and behavioral goalsQualifications and Experience:You have either (1) completed two years of study at an institution of higher education, or (2) obtained an associate's or higher degree, or (3) passed a test that demonstrates knowledge of and the ability to assist in the instruction of reading, writing, and mathematics, or (4) completed an assessment of content competence developed by the Local Education Agency and approved by the Tennessee Department of Education.
