The Work You Will Do:Three Rivers State Park is looking for a self-motivated, dedicated, and passionate park service professional to fill a vacant Park Services Specialist position. This position's primary responsibilities will be establishing and maintaining the volunteer management activities for the park. The position is also responsible for providing visitor education and services, and for maintaining and improving operations and facilities. This position serves as the primary contact point for and maintains good relations with the public, volunteers, and all public/private partners & agencies involved in resource management at the park.

Where You Will Work:Three Rivers State Park 7908 Three Rivers Park Rd Sneads, FL 32460 Looking around the landscape, visitors might catch sight of fox squirrels, white-tailed deer, gray foxes, or many species of native and migratory birds. Campers can launch from a boat ramp to enjoy some of the best freshwater fishing in the state or fish from a 100-foot pier in the camping area. A quaint picnic area with tables and grills overlooks the lake.
For overnight visitors, a rustic cabin and full-facility campgrounds (no sewer hook-up; dump station only) are available near the lake. The park continues to recover from the effects of Hurricane Michael.

Your Specific Responsibilities:In carrying out the duties of this position, the incumbent is expected at all times to be aware of and abide by the Department's Standards of Conduct, as well as any and all departmental and/or work unit rules, directives, policies, procedures, and/or general orders applicable to performing the duties of this position. Compliance with the processing requirements of Chapter 215.422, F.S. is mandatory. Persistent failure to comply with this section by any agency of the state shall constitute good cause for discharge of employees duly found responsible, or predominantly responsible, for failure to comply.
Responsible for establishing and maintaining good public relations in carrying out public information programs, and developing and coordinating private and governmental manpower and financial support systems, visitor service, and volunteer programs. Assists management with oversight of contractual service programs and participates in park maintenance and resource management programs.
Participates in planning and conducting resource management activities by implementing the resource management techniques required to manage and restore natural communities.
Provides research, planning, and coordination in conducting the interpretation of the natural/cultural resources within the park, including guided walks, campfire programs, tours, recreation skill programs, and special events.
Researches the history of a Division facility, both cultural and natural, and develops plans for restoration and implementation.
Provides research, development, and coordination of a park information program. This includes the preparation of newspaper articles, PSA's, photos, and other materials to optimize public awareness of the park. Identifies broadcast and print media interests, cultivates positive media relations, and promotes media coverage of the park.
Designs and organizes volunteer recruitments, special events, and service programs. Monitors and defines suitable park volunteer needs. Plans and conducts volunteer orientation and training sessions.
Plans, organizes, and conducts in-service training programs to meet the needs of the park's employees.
Provides research, development, and library of funding sources for the park via corporate/foundation and public support entities. Designs and implements public marketing relations program to encourage corporate/foundation and private support of the park.
Other related duties as required.
