The City of Ann Arbor is seeking a dynamic and highly motivated individual to join the department's leadership team as a Deputy Manager. This is a unique opportunity with a primary focus on leading the parks maintenance operations. Additionally, this position will oversee additional parks units that align with park maintenance, such as GIVE365 and park rentals. Pay Rate Information – $87,000 - $97,000/year (Offer will be commensurate with experience) Benefits offered with this position include: Non-Union Benefits Summary Role Summary To assist the Parks and Recreation Manager in addressing maintenance and infrastructure needs, at recreational facilities and parks. Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) in personnel, operations, fiscal, technical, and technological matters in the Parks and Recreation Services maintenance area. Ensure goals and objectives with assigned work area are consistent with the goals and objectives of Parks & Recreation Services, Community Services, and the City.
Responsible for providing operational direction and technical oversight in accordance with unit policies, procedures and processes, assisting the Parks and Recreation Services Manager in addressing operational needs and managing multiple unit projects while maintaining positive customer relations.
Training and Experience (position requirements at entry)
Required :
Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Recreation Management, Leisure Facilities Management, Commercial Recreation, Public Administration or a related field At least 4 years of operations experience in a Community Services, Public Works, or Parks and Recreation work setting, including at least 4 years of experience in supervision Experience developing and maintaining preventative maintenance programs Must be able to direct staff after hours and on weekends Preferred :
Master's Degree in Facilities Management, Recreation Management, Leisure Facilities Management, Commercial Recreation, Public Administration or a related field Knowledge of environmental management practices and stewardship Union environment work experience Experience working in a union environment.
