Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of parks, ball fields, and rights-of-way.
Operates equipment such as tractors and mowersPerforms grounds maintenance including mowing, weed eating, edging, blowing, pruning, planting, trimming, soddingPerforms regular and preventive maintenance and minor repair on assigned equipmentPerforms painting, cleaning, maintenance and repair on municipal property, structures, and facilities, including playground equipment, fences, and buildingsUtilizes various manual, gasoline, and hand held electrical tools and equipment in repairing or installing playground equipment, fences, or related structures.
Tools may include saws, drills, hammers, and shovelsCleans/clears debris and refuse from Town property regularlyCoordinates and assists with special events operationsPerforms other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications: An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.Age Requirement:Must be at least 16 years of ageExperience:Exceptional customer service and communication skills are required Licenses and/or Certifications Required:Possession of a valid Driver's License Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Ability to effectively convey information to studentsWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and OutlookStrong organizational skillsAbility to physically withstand exposure to varying weather conditions, chemicals, warm temperatures and other conditions found in the pool areasKnowledge of and ability to physically perform and demonstrate various rescue techniques, life-saving procedures and water safety instructionAbility to exercise independent judgment to apply facts and advisory data to problem resolution.
Advisory data includes Town of Castle Rock Personnel Guidelines, Parks and Recreation policies and procedures, Certified Pool Operators Manual, and lifeguarding manualsMust satisfactorily complete a criminal background check and driving record check prior to commencing employment.The Town of Castle Rock is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
