Founded in 1866, the college enrolls approximately 2,000 students.

: Provides administrative support to the Sustainability Office, with a primary focus on coordinating activities for the Ex Uno Fonte "Faith and Environment" Fund. Engages with a variety of tasks associated with sustainability projects and programs, including but not limited to organizing event logistics, managing budgets, communicating with internal and external constituencies, working with student groups, developing internal forms and procedures, creating written content about programs, planning event programs, and more. This position will primarily work on Ex Uno Fonte projects and programs but may also assist the Sustainability Office with other events and activities. This is a grant funded position with guaranteed funding through June 2025, and potential funding up to 4 additional years. Continued employment beyond June 2025 depends on additional funding.
Requirements: Essential Departmental Duties and Responsibilities: Arrange logistical details for visiting speakers, including booking travel arrangements, coordinating financial details, gathering speaker information, event advertising, etc. Oversee communications for the Wooster Faith & Sustainability Network (WFSN). Coordinate logistics for the monthly WFSN luncheon, including booking the venue, arranging food, coordinating the schedule, and other event planning activities. Assist with planning the Faith and Environment TREK, including researching, planning, and coordinating all advance logistical details associated with a 3-week study abroad experience. Develop internal forms and procedures and oversee the application process for research and professional development funding from the Ex Uno Fonte fund for faculty and students. Develop written content for Ex Uno Fonte programs, including the website, internal forms, external communication, and advertisement materials. Monitor and reconcile department budgets. Monitor and approve submitted student work hours. Assist the Sustainability Office in planning and coordinating other sustainability-related events. Other duties may be assigned. Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree is required. Between 2 - 5 years of related work experience at a baccalaureate degree college or university is strongly preferred.
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret non-technical articles and essays on various sustainability topics. Ability to write reports, emails, website content, and advertising material for sustainability programs and projects. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of students, staff, faculty, and the general public in English. Ability to be clear and concise in verbal and written communication.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to reconcile budget reports.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed written or verbal instructions.
Technology Skills: Must be proficient in a variety of computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, and web), and capable of learning how to use new online platforms for budget management and other tasks.
Other Qualifications: This position's primary tasks involve planning and coordinating programs related to religion and the environment. As such, an employee in this role should be open-minded about diverse spiritual beliefs and willing to support all individuals and institutions participating in Ex Uno Fonte Fund activities regardless of their religious background or beliefs. Likewise, an employee in this role should be knowledgeable about basic sustainability principles and ideas, supportive of sustainability and environmental stewardship in general, and capable of clearly communicating about sustainability and environmental topics.

Additional Information: Ex Uno Fonte Fund Established in December 2023 thanks to a gift from the Wallace Genetic Foundation, the Ex Uno Fonte Fund supports initiatives linking science and religion in an effort to address urgent environmental challenges. The fund will focus on three areas of support: 1) educating current students about environmental issues through a faith lens, with a particular emphasis on how diverse faith traditions can contribute to environmental solutions; 2) advancing academic knowledge by supporting student and faculty research; and 3) engaging the broader Wooster community around environmental learning and action by facilitating collaborative opportunities between the College, local faith communities, and local environmental organizations.
