Job Description PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
Under general supervision, position provides assistance with set-up and maintenance of nursing labs, as well as general assistance related to nursing labs.
Helps ensure labs and related equipment are well maintained in order to provide a clean and safe work/laboratory environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Assists in the preparation of labs prior to lab starting times.
Sets up essential equipment and supplies.
Assists in clean-up of nursing skills lab and maintenance of lab equipment Makes copies of documents as needed, such as assignment handouts Sorts and maintains supplies and equipment.
Receives and signs for receipt of equipment and supplies.
Provides information and assistance to nursing instructors regarding lab equipment Assists in inventory of lab supplies and equipment Answers routine questions and inquiries regarding nursing lab Maintains communication with the Nursing Lab Coordinator regarding lab assignments May prepare educational posters Adheres to laboratory safety protocols at all times Responsible for other reasonable, related duties as assigned KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to handle multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail Reliability with maintaining work schedule PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
The work requires some physical exertion, such as long periods of standing; walking over rough, uneven, or rocky surfaces; recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities; or recurring lifting of moderately heavy items, such as typewriters and record boxes.
The work may require specific, but common, physical characteristics and abilities, such as above average agility and dexterity.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds for receiving equipment and supplies as well as for lab set up.
WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS:
The work may involves exposure to hazardous items such as chemicals, toxic or caustic materials, contamination, and electrical hazards.
This exposure requires special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, carts, or machines; exposure to contagious diseases or irritant chemicals.
Employees may be required to use protective clothing or gear, such as masks, gowns, coats, boots, goggles, gloves, or shields.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED equivalent and at least 1 year of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience Salary
Hourly Pay Rate is $13.52
