Part-Time Counselor Pool

POSITION

The Department of Counseling & Psychological Services at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its part-time Counselor pool.
We welcome applications from individuals who are experienced and student centered in the following subject areas:
Clinical supervision
Multicultural/Diversity
College population
Crisis intervention
Individual/group therapy
Outreach/Consultation

This a general recruitment for a pool of part-time counselors for the department to draw from as needed. Qualified applicants will be contacted when positions are available.

APPOINTMENTS FROM THE PART-TIME POOL ARE TEMPORARY. APPLICANTS MUST BE AVAILABLE ON VERY SHORT NOTICE.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

PhD, PsyD. degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology or related field or equivalent experience
CA License as a Psychologist
Candidates should have prior supervision experience at the doctoral level
Candidates should demonstrate their ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preference will be given to those with significant experience in working with diverse college populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive and inclusive environment.
Preference will also be given to those with relevant performance and professional experience.

PERFORMANCE EVALUATION

Regular performance evaluations of part-time counselors are made by the department in accord with the faculty Collective Bargaining Agreement and University Policy Statement 210.070. These performance evaluations determine which counselors will be retained for future and continued counseling assignments. And in some instances, evaluations, assignments and reading material will be reviewed by the departmental personnel committee.

COMPENSATION

The temporary Counselor classification salary range is $7,830 to $14,109 per month
Anticipated hiring range depending on qualifications, not to exceed $8,104 per month

The full-time monthly base salaries indicated above are prorated to the time base assigned.
Salary offered is commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition, the California Equal Pay Act prohibits employers from paying its employees less than those of the opposite sex and/or another race or ethnicity for substantially similar work (https://www.dir.ca.gov/dlse/california_equal_pay_act.htm ). .

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) provides support for students facing personal challenges and mental health concerns. Services offered at CAPS include short-term individual counseling, group counseling, case management and referral, psychoeducational workshops, and crisis intervention. The CAPS team is comprised of mental health professionals including psychologists, social workers, and marriage and family therapists who specialize in working with a diverse college student population. Services are also provided by graduate-level psychology interns working under the supervision of a licensed counselor. For more information about CAPS, visit Fullerton.edu/caps .

Please note, that continued employment is contingent upon your successful completion of a background screening as required under CSU policy. Counselor rehired at CSUF after a break in service of 12 or more months who have not had a CSUF background check within the past 12 months will be subject to a new background check; rehire is contingent upon the satisfactory completion of the new background check
