The Sharon at SouthPark is a continuing care retirement community for senior residents located near the heart of SouthPark. We are a non-profit long term care facility that offers independent living, assisted living, and skilled nursing care. At the Sharon at SouthPark our team member's number one responsibility is to deliver compassionate resident care every time!
SUMMARY The Shuttle Driver (SD) will report to Lifestyle Coordinator (LC). The objective of the position is to drive a shuttle around campus for resident use. Driver carries a cell phone and picks up residents by request. Driver also assists with deliveries of packages and meals when needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Represents the company in a positive manner while creating an environment that fosters respect and courtesy for residents, employees, vendors and professional partners alike. Works within the company programs to promote safety and the well-being of all residents and employees. Upholds the company's Mission Statement. Maintains HIPAA standards in regard to all medical or healthcare information pertaining to residents and employees as confidential. Ensures shuttle is clean and gassed each day. Schedules routine maintenance on shuttle according to manufacturer's recommendations. Maintains a daily rider log and a pre and post shift checklist. Acquires and maintains knowledge of all safety procedures pertaining to the shuttle. Utilizes knowledge in times of emergency, breakdowns or accidents. Assists residents with entering and exiting the shuttle. In addition, assistance with any items they bring on board may be required such as a walker, bag, package, etc. Logs and delivers packages for residents daily. Assists with meal delivery at Villa's and Cottages, as needed. Participates in daily, weekly, or monthly meetings as determined by LC and/or Director of Vitality and Well-being. Reports needs or concerns of residents and any issues with the shuttle to the LC immediately. Reports any driving violation committed during working hours immediately to LC or Director of Vitality and Well-being. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for knowledge of fire and safety procedures including those involving blood-borne pathogens. Remains in proper attire at all times and maintains a high standard of appearance. Interacts well with residents, team members, prospects, vendors, and partners. Maintains excellent resident and employee relations. Handles complaints and recommendations constructively. Performs other duties as assigned by Lifestyle Coordinator and/or Director of Vitality and Well-being. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE High school graduation or GED required. Transportation experience desired. SKILLS Valid NC driver's license and a clean driving record. Willingness to work in an environment that changes daily based on the needs of the residents. Strong verbal communication skills. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Must conduct all business with a professional manner and with a high level of confidentiality. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Work outdoors for the majority of the workday (fluctuating temperatures, weather patterns, AC, Heat) Climb up to two flights of stairs occasionally. Lift objects of 25 pounds or less over the head. Move objects of 40 pounds or less. Sit or remain standing for extended periods. Drive lengthy distances as required. Respond to medical emergencies, if necessary. Assist with resident evacuations, if necessary.
