Description TITLE: Housekeeping Aide
REPORTS TO: Housing Manager
Job Summary:The primary purpose of your job description is to perform the day-to-day activities of the Housekeeping Department in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations governing our facility, and as may be directed by the Housing Manager, to assure that our facility is maintained in a clean, safe, and comfortable manner.
Qualifications: Must have an ability to work with changing priorities, work independently and as a member of a team.
Must have an ability to work cooperatively with staff, residents, and family.
Must be able to work weekdays with occasional weekends and holidays, as needed.
Must understand and practice Standard Precautions.
Able to physically perform the duties required by the position.
The Housekeeping Aide is also required to have an ability to read, write and speak English, and complete and pass a state required background study form which checks for certain criminal convictions or serious/recurring maltreatment.
General Responsibilities: Maintain cleanliness within resident apartments.Responsible for maintaining cleaning, sanitizing and deodorizing resident rooms by carrying out general cleaning duties.Respect resident time and personal belongings.Treat residents with courtesy and respect.Document in accordance with regulations and established policies and procedures.Maintain clean spaces in Eastwood Senior Living including common spaces, spa room and laundry rooms as well as support spaces and equipment.Empty garbage and waste containers.Wash windows, walls and clean screens.Assists in apartment cleans upon move out/move in.Stock housekeeping rooms.Clean and disinfect equipment and storage rooms.Clean common bathrooms.Maintain stock of materials to ensure supply demands are met throughout facility.Assist with event preparation/special projects and clean up.Empty and transfer soiled laundry, dry and fold clean laundry, as needed.Uses applicable infection control procedures.Apply principles of good body mechanics when lifting and moving objects.Participate in disaster planning drills (fire, tornado, severe weather, etc.)
when on duty.Develop knowledge of actions to be implemented in emergency situations.Practice fire safety and accident prevention procedures.Follow all policies and procedures governing the operation of Minnewaska Community Health Services.Follow established policies governing the use of labels and MSDS.Dispense chemicals as written and required.Attend in-service training and other work-related meetings as required.Complete required annual education and dementia training.The duties and responsibilities listed above are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive.
