Housekeeping - Maintenance PositionPosition Type: Non-Exempt, Part-Time, up to 19 hours/week,Flexible hours working inside (year-round) and outside building (seasonally)The Housekeeping - Maintenance Worker will serve as a key contributor to parish by keeping the church property, buildings and surrounding grounds in clean and orderly condition.
Responsible for general maintenance and the safety and security of the church property.Key Responsibilities: Perform routine cleaning and disinfecting of offices, meeting rooms/areas, restrooms and hallways as assigned using established practices and procedures.
Accomplishes this by sweeping, mopping and vacuuming of floors, dusting offices and church, cleaning bathrooms, cleaning windowsills and washing windows.
Assures the collection and disposal of trash and garbage.
Set-up and take down of tables and chairs in parish hall and meeting rooms.
Assist with groundskeeping (lawn cutting, edging, snow removal, etc.)
as needed on a seasonal basis.
Perform minor maintenance of church and church buildings.
Accomplishes this by doing light carpentry work and minor repair work on the facilities as needed.
Secure the parish facility, ensuring all buildings are locked/unlocked as required.
Work cooperatively with supervisor and staff.
Perform other related duties as required or assigned.Qualifications: Possess necessary custodial skills - janitorial experience preferred.
General knowledge of cleaning supplies and their applications.
Perform routine tasks requiring physical strength, stamina and attention to detail.
Ability to bend, lift, reach over-head, stretch, push, pull or lift 50lbs.
Demonstrate good interpersonal skills and the importance of teamwork and community.
Self-motivated and prompt in performing tasks.
Available to work mornings and afternoons; Occasional Sunday and evening work (if needed).
Must be willing to work in a Christian environment.
