APPOINTMENTS FROM THE PART-TIME POOL ARE TEMPORARY AND OFTEN MADE JUST PRIOR TO THE START OF THE ACADEMIC TERM. APPLICANTS MUST BE AVAILABLE ON VERY SHORT NOTICE. WINE AND VITICULTURE PART-TIME LECTURER POOL. The Wine and Viticulture Department within the College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences at Cal Poly is seeking applications for a pool of part-time lecturers with positions available as determined by need during the 2024-2025 academic year. Lecturers in the Wine and Viticulture Department may teach undergraduate lecture and/or laboratory sections in one or more of the following areas: viticulture, vineyard production and management; grapevine physiology; winemaking; wine analysis; wine chemistry; wine microbiology; wine history and culture; wine sensory analysis; and wine business, marketing and sales. Other assignments could include program support and senior project management. Initial rank and salary for lecturer faculty are based on professional experience and educational background and are determined by the hiring department. Most new lecturers are hired at the Lecturer A or B rank. Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral use of the English language is required. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSMaster's degree preferred. University teaching or industry experience preferred. A graduate degree in appropriate discipline may be substituted for the teaching and/or industry experience.Preference will be given to those with experience in working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive and inclusive environment.
