Faculty Employment Opportunity
POSITION:
The Department of Computer Science invites applications for a temporary teaching appointment. The person appointed to this position will teach introductory and upper-division undergraduate courses in Computer Science, with the potential for a full-time load. This position is contingent upon the availability of authorized funding.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A Master's Degree in Computer Science or related field is required. Other minimum qualifications include: undergraduate teaching experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
A potential candidate's consideration will be enhanced by providing evidence of: Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related field, or academic work beyond a Master's Degree (e.g., A.B.D.). Significant experience teaching the upper division core curriculum in undergraduate computer science.

COMPENSATION:
Commensurate with qualifications and experience. As a member of the 23-campus CSU System, we offer an extremely competitive benefits package.
Newly hired lecturers with terminal degrees are placed in Range 3 of the salary schedule and others are normally placed in Range 2. Starting salaries are usually at or near the minimum of the range. The full-time (15 units per semester) monthly base salaries indicated in the schedules are prorated based on the number of units assigned and are paid in six monthly payments for each full semester. CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CLEARANCE NOTICE
The university requires a criminal and/or child abuse background check to be completed for many of its new employees, current employees seeking promotional or transfer opportunities, and current employees assigned new duties. Satisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check) is required for employment.
