They should be able to design exciting games and play schemes that foster curiosity and facilitate age-appropriate milestones.Evaluation and Treatment: The candidate should be competent in conducting evaluations of children from birth to 12 years old using evaluation tools and clinical observations. They should be able to develop and implement effective treatment goals and interventions based on their assessments.Documentation and Reporting: The candidate should possess strong organizational skills to accurately document treatment services, progress reports, and daily notes. They should also be able to provide progress reports to communicate the child's development towards performance goals.Collaboration and Teamwork: The candidate should be able to collaborate effectively with other disciplines to determine the best plan of care for shared clients and their families. They should be open to working in a multidisciplinary team environment and contribute to the overall success of the therapy team.Qualifications: The candidate should meet specific qualifications, including current licensure in Occupational Therapy in New Jersey, NBCOT certification, and a master's degree or higher from an accredited university program. At least one year of experience working with children in a therapeutic setting is also required.Knowledge and Expertise: The candidate should have a solid understanding of occupational therapy principles and practices, as well as a familiarity with a variety of diagnoses. They should be knowledgeable about evidence-based treatment practices, particularly those beneficial for children with Sensory Processing Disorders (SPD).Critical Thinking and Decision-making: The candidate should demonstrate the ability to work independently and use critical thinking skills to make objective, strategic, and results-oriented decisions in the context of learner care and organizational priorities.Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for effective interaction with individuals and groups. The candidate should exercise good judgment, maintain confidentiality, and demonstrate clear and concise communication in their role.Physical Abilities: The candidate should be physically capable of working in an active environment and treating children on the floor as needed. They should be able to lift up to 40 pounds repetitively and perform tasks such as bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, and twisting to observe, assess, and interact with participants.CPR Certification and Background Clearance: The candidate should possess a valid CPR certification or be willing to obtain one. Occupational Therapists at FTC will create exciting games and play schemes that foster children's curiosity and help them achieve key individual and age-appropriate milestones.
Responsibilities: Conduct evaluations, treatment, and consultations.Develop and implement treatment goals for clients.Provide quality, evidence-based treatment and interventions to facilitate maximum independence.Document treatment services.Provide progress reports.Communicate progress towards performance goals.Ensure accuracy on all documentation, evaluations, progress reports, and daily notes.Collaborate with other disciplines to determine the best plan of care for shared clients and family needs.Set up for treatment sessions and sanitize equipment after use.Competence in conducting evaluations of children birth to 12 years using evaluation tools and clinical observations.Develop, report, and present performance measures to team lead on a recurring basis.Qualifications: Weekday afternoon availability.Current New Jersey licensure in Occupational Therapy.NBCOT certification.Master's degree or higher from an accredited university program.At least 2 years of experience working with children in a therapeutic setting.Knowledgeable in occupational therapy, multi-disciplinary team approach, sensory integration, and rehabilitation principles and practices.Knowledgeable of evidence-based practices found to benefit children with Sensory Processing Disorders (SPD).Familiarity with a variety of diagnoses.Current knowledge of evidence-based treatment practices.Experience and ability to work independently, using critical thinking skills and processes to arrive at objective, strategic, results-oriented decisions within the context of learner care and department, division, and organizational priorities.Demonstrate good judgment, decision-making, and communication skills with a variety of individuals and groups. Exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality.Valid CPR certification or willingness to obtain.Ability to pass background clearance.Ability to lift up to 40 pounds repetitively.
