The Role We are looking for a Capital Network Partner on the Consumer & Games team. The Capital Network function serves as a trusted advisor that guides & advises our portfolio companies through capital raising (equity and debt), M&A (including strategic investments) and capital markets transactions. The primary function of this role is to provide real and sustained value to: (i) the Firm's Consumer & Games portfolio companies, (ii) the Consumer & Games investment teams, and (iii) the broader Consumer & Games operating team through cross-functional collaboration. This role will be located in San Francisco.
To join our team, you should be excited to: Lead Deal Execution Partner and advise our Consumer & Games portfolio companies with capital raising (equity and debt), M&A (including strategic investments) and capital markets transactions Co-develop and advise on building presentation materials for both internal team discussions as well as external investor & strategic discussions for our Consumer & Games portfolio companies Further Develop Investor & Strategic Network Continue to develop existing investor & strategic relationships across the consumer & games ecosystem ranging from early stage to late stage growth investors, as well as seek to establish new ecosystem relationships such as strategic corporates for the benefit of the Consumer & Games franchise Assist in coordinating and managing relationships with external service providers in the consumer & games ecosystem (legal, accounting, investment banking, consulting, etc) Conduct Sector Research & Internal Portfolio Analysis Conduct comprehensive, in-depth company and industry research as well as complex portfolio and operational benchmarking analysis (e.g. KPI analysis) across the Consumer & Games portfolio Perform analysis for investment decisioning with follow-on investments into existing portfolio companies Build and manage models/dashboards that deliver key insights on industry developments and trends Lead ad-hoc projects related to the Consumer & Games team's priorities and initiatives Minimum Qualifications 10+ years of corporate finance experience. Preferable prior experience includes but is not limited to, corporate development roles, investment banking / M&A advisory in the TMT sector, management consulting, and other technology-focused finance roles where capital raising and M&A was a strong focus Comprehensive knowledge of corporate finance, financial modeling and data & analytics Ability to build and cultivate long-term relationships Proven ability to self-start, operate autonomously, manage multiple priorities, independently contribute new solutions, navigate situations with ambiguity, and execute consistently in a dynamic environment Ability to discern industry needs and trends and effectively communicate insights to investment partners Low ego, high empathy, and the capacity to collaborate effectively with diverse teams Ability to quickly build trust with other team members as well as entrepreneurs and broader capital/strategic network Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with a focus on detail and executive presence Proven ability to multi-task, apply initiative and think creatively on strategic projects Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a technical field preferred but not required The anticipated salary range for this role is between $331,000-$386,000, actual starting pay may vary based on a range of factors which can include experience, skills, and scope.
This role is eligible to participate in the a16z carry program and various discretionary bonus programs as well as benefit and perquisite plans including health, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, 401K plan, vacation, and sick leave.
