Pas Central Scheduler - 40 Hours Day Shift

Responsible for handling a high volume of incoming calls from bothphysician's offices and patients.Willschedule, re-schedule, update and change patient appointments in a timelymanner.Responsible for ensuringpre-cert/authorization requirements have been met.Will have thorough knowledge of CPT andICD-9 codes.Scheduler will beresponsible for pre-registration.Responsible for filing and interpretation of physician orders.


Scheduler is responsible forupdating demographic information.
Generate a patient itinerary containing warning and preparationinstruction after each procedure is booked.
Scheduler will ensure it will be mailed in a timely fashion.Assist patients ranging in age from adult togeriatrics who may call to verify the time/date or other information abouttheir procedures.


Qualifications

Required: Includes solving, operating, reasoning,interpreting, remembering, understanding, directing, controlling, computing,and counting.
Good Counseling and communication skills.
Strong interpersonalskills, courtesy and tact with patient, family members, physicians and staffmembers.
Analytical ability for numbers and situations.
Keyboard, Computer,CustomerService Skills,and office machine experience

Preferred; Two year experience in a physician's office setting withscheduling responsibilities or in a health care environment with admittingbackground preferredTyping proficiencyof 40 words per minute preferred.


Preferred; High school diploma preferred which generallyprovides the ability to read and write in order to schedule patients and readwarning and preparation experience.
