Position Overview As a PASRR (Preadmission Screening and Resident Review) Clinical Evaluator, you will conduct onsite assessments to facilitate and ensure appropriate placement and care for local populations in Yakima, Washington, and its surrounding areas. Your role involves providing essential evaluations and recommendations to enhance patient well-being and quality of life. These assessments, primarily conducted in nursing homes or hospital settings, play a crucial role in determining the level and scope of care required for each patient.
This is a hybrid opportunity that offers a blend of work from your home office with fieldwork, requiring travel to clients in your surrounding areas.
Job Responsibilities Conduct accurate screenings, evaluations, and determinations by thoroughly assessing patients, relevant records, and collateral sources of information. Determine the appropriate level of care and service needs based on the patient's physical, behavioral, and psychological functioning. Apply knowledge of psychiatric disorders as defined by the most current Diagnostic and Statistical Manual used in Washington. Adhere to standards of practice related to mental health, intellectual and developmental disabilities, geriatrics, and other conditions necessitating long-term care services and supports. Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook for efficient documentation and communication. Confirm clinical diagnoses, accounting for psychological and behavioral factors. Utilize computer equipment and web-based software to facilitate work processes effectively. Interact professionally with healthcare professionals, patients, and their families as necessary. Communicate effectively to individuals and groups through various mediums, including spoken, written, and electronic forms. Monitor personal metrics to ensure compliance with turnaround time requirements. Ensure compliance with necessary workflows to maintain quality and efficiency. Attend and actively participate in meetings and conduct case consultations/peer reviews as needed. Stay updated on current literature, regulations, and research related to long-term care, mental illness, medical conditions, and geriatrics. The list of accountabilities is not intended to be all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties that management may deem necessary from time to time. Required Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge and Experience Minimum of 3 years' experience in assessing and diagnosing individuals with mental/psychiatric disorders, including complex differential diagnoses related to substance use, medical conditions, cognitive issues, and dementia. Active unrestricted licensure in Washington in a healthcare or related field, such as a Licensed Psychologist, Psychiatric Nurse, Social Worker, Mental Health Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist, or Social Worker Independent Clinical License. Graduation from an accredited college with a relevant degree program. Working knowledge of Preadmission Screening and Resident Review (PASRR) requirements per Federal Regulation 42 CFR, Chapter 483. Familiarity with psychiatric disorders as defined by the most current Diagnostic and Statistical Manual used in Washington. Experience working with the geriatric population Knowledge of and/or experience with public mental health and medical programs. Understanding of standards of practice related to determining the Level of Care. Knowledge of standards of practice related to mental health, geriatrics, and other disorders typically requiring long-term care placement. Understanding of public sector services and supports. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook. Ability to diagnose psychological and behavioral issues clinically. Proficiency in using computer equipment and web-based software for work. Strong interpersonal skills to interact with office staff, healthcare professionals, patients, families, and other support systems effectively. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey information to individuals and groups through various media. Attention to detail, effective prioritization, and timely execution of tasks. Proficiency in assessing and analyzing psychological, emotional, behavioral, and physical functioning. Compensation The compensation for this role is $83,200 to $90,000 annual salary. Based on our compensation program, an applicant's position placement in the pay range will depend on various considerations, such as years of applicable experience and skill level.
