YOUR ROLE AS A PASTA LINE COOK We are looking for a Pasta Line Cook to prepare food to the exact chef's specifications and to set up stations for the menu. Line Cook's duties will consist of assisting the executive and sous chef with their daily tasks. The successful candidate will play a key role in contributing to our customer satisfaction and acquisition goals. Ultimately, you will contribute to delivering a pleasant dining experience for our guests. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES: Keeping track of meal prep components to ensure timely completion of final dishesChopping and preparing vegetables and other non-meat ingredientsStocking ingredients and kitchen suppliesMaintaining clean and sanitized workstationsChecking perishable ingredients and food items for freshnessUnderstanding of portions when cutting and slicing meat, poultry and seafoodComprehension skills when reading order tickets and recipesHand-eye coordination when using kitchen tools and cooking utensilsTaking daily measures to prevent food cross-contaminationMaintain a clean station at all timesREQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS: Work experience as a line cook or similar role Willingness to work as a team player when preparing dishes and coordinating meal serviceOrganizational skills to maintain an orderly workspace and kitchenHands-on experience with professional kitchen equipmentGood knowledge of food plating techniquesUnderstanding of health and safety rules in a kitchenPhysical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods of time when cooking and preparing foodWillingness to work required shifts, i.e., night shift, breakfast rush, including evenings and weekends Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environmentA degree from a culinary school is a plusINTENT AND FUNCTION OF JOB DESCRIPTIONS: All descriptions have been reviewed to ensure that only essential functions and basic duties have been included.
