We are working with an impressive group of IP practitioners who are looking for another top-notch patent attorney for their computer science and electrical engineering practice area. This is a highly-respected IP group and has been steadily expanding as they continue to attract sophisticated work from a wide range of clients.
The focus of the work will primarily relate to the preparation and prosecution of patents for domestic and foreign clients while also supporting practice needs in other related areas (e.g., patentability, infringement, validity, and freedom to operate opinions and related analysis; portfolio strategy and management; due diligence).
Notably, this is a very team-oriented, friendly, and cooperative environment wherein your talent will be matched with opportunity and responsibility. Associates are entrusted with substantial client interaction and must possess excellent interpersonal skills.
You will be exposed to a diverse array of complex software and computer engineering applications including cryptography, blockchain, artificial intelligence (AI), enterprise and mobile applications, databases, web and cloud services, operating systems, software user interfaces, open source, 3D graphics, grid computing, networking, telecommunications, network protocols, IEEE standards, and network security.
Patent Attorney Requirements:Minimum BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or possibly Physics. Prior engineering experience is a plus.State bar and USPTO bar.Must have at least 1 year of full-time claim drafting and patent prosecution experience with a reputable law firm.Strong academic credentials.Of Counsel or Partner: If you have a portable book that makes you partially or fully self-sustaining, this could be an outstanding platform within which to integrate your existing portfolio of clients.
Since this practice deals with domestic and international clients, dual fluency is not required; however, fluency in Chinese, Japanese, or Korean would certainly be of value.
