This unique opportunity is within a well-established and booming practice. Our client is looking for a patent attorney (associate, partner track) with a solid technical background in electrical engineering, computer engineering, and/or computer science. Primarily, this opportunity will relate to the preparation and prosecution of patents, opinions, and patent portfolio strategy. There will also be the opportunity to work on due diligence, technology licensing, PTAB issues, and even trademarks, depending on the ongoing needs of the practice. You will engage with clients at all levels on highly technical work wherein quality is emphasized more than quantity.
As an associate here, you will likely deal with a wide range of electrical, computer, and software engineering applications (industrial and consumer electronics, analog and digital circuits, chip architecture, wireless telecommunications, enterprise applications, network security, network protocols, databases, web services, operating systems, software user interfaces, open source, etc.). Client assignment and workload will be dependent upon your capabilities, interests, and technical expertise.
Requirements:Minimum BS Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering preferred, or possibly in Physics or Computer Science.Prior engineering experience is a plus.State bar, USPTO bar.Must have at least 1 solid year of full-time patent drafting and prosecution experience pertaining to related complex patents.Notes for Potential Candidates: All fees are paid by client firms and companies. Another important distinction is that we work directly with the decision-makers (i.e. partners, managing counsels, etc.) that make the determinations regarding who will be interviewed, who will be extended an offer, etc.
